Our "Why"
Money, time, legacy, community. What's our "Why"?
For Cody:
I began my career as a real estate professional in 2014, working with my dad to build a successful home inspection business from the ground up. While rewarding, it was also demanding, and over time I realized I was being owned by the business more than I owned it. The work was constant, the responsibility unrelenting, and my time was no longer truly my own. This taught me the importance of systems, scalability, and teamwork.
That reality came sharply into focus in August of 2020, when I learned on a Monday morning that one of my closest friends had been killed in a motorcycle accident. I had three inspections scheduled that day, with more booked around an upcoming vacation, and felt powerless to step away. Clients depended on me. Deals depended on me. There was nobody to call, nobody to take my place. So I worked through the day—processing grief between inspections, stepping aside when I needed to collect myself. That experience forced an uncomfortable truth into view: life is fragile, time is finite, and without effectively leveraging sytems, owning a business allowed little room for either. While home inspection remains a passion and a big part of my life, I've been able to translate those lessons into real estate investing, and now my goal is simple: build something durable, help others see the power of real estate, create long-term value, honor responsibility, and live life with intention rather than urgency.
